Our final interview for National Skills Week is with Paul Harvey – Assistant GTO Manager with MTA (WA).

Paul had a passion for working on cars from an early age, sneaking into the shed to use his dad’s tools and repairing anything broken. When the opportunity arose he commenced his heavy duty mechanic apprenticeship and worked in the trade for 30 years before diversifying into light vehicle.

Paul has been working with MTA (WA) since 2006 and is keen to continue growing the number of apprentices and host employers throughout the GTO to a level never before seen.

Michael Fredericks – Plumbing & Gas Fitting Trainer at MPA Skills

#NationalSkillsWeek #Apprenticeships #Traineeships #MoreThanYouKnow

This is a great interview with Michael Fredericks – Plumbing & Gas Fitting Trainer with MPA Skills another of our dedicated industry trainers participating in National Skills Week.

Michael like a lot of teenagers didn’t know which career pathway to pursue, he did know however that he didn’t want to be stuck behind a desk and needed a job with a larger physical component. After speaking with others in the industry he chose Plumbing as it was a licenced trade and would offer him variation in work.

Michael enjoys working with people from all walks of life and with different abilities, he feels a great sense of satisfaction in seeing an Apprentice leave his training with a strong set of skills.
