Apprenticeships in Western Australia, of between two and four years duration are available full-time, part-time or whilst still at school depending on the industry involved. Although apprenticeships are generally taken up by young people there is no upper age limit and mature aged people are encouraged to consider apprenticeship pathways. An existing worker can also take up an apprenticeship, irrespective of the duration of their employment.
